The result of the 2023 general elections, in twelve graphs

MADRID, 24 Jul. (EDITIONS) -

The Popular Party has won the general elections but without meeting expectations, it does not add up to Vox and will not be able to govern. Pedro Sánchez, for his part, endures but his investiture will depend on Carles Puigdemont's party to continue in Moncloa.

The PSOE has become the second political force after the elections this Sunday and they add two more deputies than in 2019. Despite everything, Pedro Sánchez still has options to retain the government if he manages to get them to support him in a hypothetical investiture ERC, Bildu and the PNV and Junts opts for abstention.

PP has won more than three million votes with respect to the 2019 elections, while PSOE has achieved one million more. Vox is the party that has lost the most, with more than 600,000 less and Sumar has obtained 500,000 less than Unidas Podemos, Más Madrid and Chunta Aragonesista in 2019.

This graph compares the seats by communities of each formation compared to the 2019 elections:

By provinces, the PP has been the first force in 41 provinces, while the PSOE dominates in ten, including the four Catalan ones, PNV has been in Vizcaya and EH Bildu, in Guipúzcoa. Sumar has been the third force in several provinces where Podemos was in 2019, in addition to others such as Madrid or Seville:
