The Repsol Honda of Márquez and Mir starts this Wednesday in Madrid

MADRID, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The new Repsol Honda Team of MotoGP will start giving gas this Wednesday in Madrid with the official presentation of the project for the 2023 World Championship, with the eight-time world champion Marc Márquez and Joan Mir, MotoGP champion in 2020, as a new face.

"On the morning of Wednesday, February 22, the Repsol Honda team will make its official presentation at the Repsol Campus in Madrid," the team announced at the end of January.

After the departure of the Suzuki championship and the departure of Pol Espargaró from the Repsol Honda team, Joan Mir, Moto3 champion in 2017 and MotoGP in 2020, will be the new teammate of a Marc Márquez who he hopes to leave behind completely his ordeal with injuries.

Both the one in Cervera and the one in Palma de Mallorca will be the great attractions, together with the new Honda RC213V 2023, of a highly anticipated debut at Honda. "For me it doesn't make sense to continue running filling the starting grid. What I do I do with everything, what gives you gasoline is winning, it's the reward that one seeks. The goal is to fight again for a World Cup and that I be ready for it", assured Márquez in the presentation of his documentary 'Marc Márquez: ALL IN'.

However, the tests with Honda have not gone as expected. "At Honda they are the first to be interested in changing things to win a title, these are moments to be united, there is still a lot to do. We come from two bad years and it doesn't change from one day to the next. I want a title and to do it you expose yourself to the risk. To win you have to risk. It's still my passion. I'm 30 years old and there's still a lot to do," he added at the event last Sunday.

In the last championship of 2022, Márquez was affected by absences due to injury and finished 13th with 113 points, compared to just 56 from a Pol Espargaró who did not adapt to the Honda. For his part, Mir was 15th with 87 points in his farewell to Suzuki.
