The Pride demonstration begins in Madrid with Díaz and Ribera at the head and Irene Montero in the Podemos float

MADRID, 1 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The demonstration for Pride Day in Madrid started this Saturday at around 7:10 p.m., from the Carlos V roundabout, behind a banner with the slogan 'For our rights, for our lives and with Pride' on the cover, as well as for the convening organizations, by the second and third vice presidents, Yolanda Díaz and Teresa Ribera, respectively. Although the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero had been invited to be in the front row, she will finally participate in the march from the Podemos float.

In this way, Díaz and Montero avoid coinciding after the weeks of controversy that they have starred in, after Díaz, leader of the new Sumar formation, vetoed Montero from his party lists for the next general elections on 23J.

The organizations' invitation to Montero, Díaz and Ribera to participate in the main banner is, as indicated by the convening entities, "in recognition of the coalition government" for approving the Trans state Law and for the rights of LGTBI people.

Also on the main banner are the presidents of the organizing organizations, Uge Sangil from FELGTBI and Ronny de la Cruz, from COGAM, the activist and deputy from Más Madrid, Carla Antonelli; the Argentine LGTBI activist, Esteban Paulón; the vice president of FELGTBI, Mané Fernández; the president of Chrysallis, Encarni Bonilla; the president of Galehi, Sara del Olmo; the representative of the COGAM Family Group, Violeta Herrero; or the president of the Pedro Zerolo Foundation, Luisa Estévez, among other people.

In this edition, the march also carries a second headline banner carried by more than a dozen representatives of civil society entities that have signed a Social Pact against hate speech, in which they claim this agreement.

In addition to the ministers already named, three other members of the Government have attended the march: that of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, that of Science, Diana Morant, and that of Social Rights, Ione Belarra.

Despite the criticism that the convening organizations have made this week to the PP, for its pacts with Vox in the municipal and regional governments, after 28M, the 'popular' have sent a representation of the formation headed by the Vice Secretary of Social Policy and Demographic Challenge, Carmen Fúnez, the Secretary of Culture Jaime de los Santos and the Territorial Deputy Secretary, Pedro Rollán. In addition, there will be other positions of the PP and New Generations.
