The new president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, will receive a total of 12,685.89 gross euros per month for his position -177,602 euros per year--, while the two vice-presidents, Javier Maroto and Guillermo Fernández Vara, will receive 9,674 euros per month for perform their performance -135,449 euros per year--. In addition to this, the president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, adds an allowance of 3,472.07 euros per month and a complement of 5,068.51 euros per month, also in 14 payments and with the same withholding and taxation system.

Also added are the 971.48 euros that he receives to meet the expenses caused by the activity of the Chamber, such as travel or allowances. Being elected by the Community of Madrid, this amount is less than the rest of the senators, although this money is exempt from taxation in any case.

Last Thursday, Javier Maroto, until now the spokesman for the PP in the Senate, and the former president of the Junta de Extremadura and socialist leader, Guillermo Fernández Vara, were also elected vice-presidents of the Senate.

In both cases, they will receive a total of 9,674.99 euros per month, in fourteen installments and with these remunerations, which will mean that they receive a total of 135,449 euros gross per year for the performance of their functions as vice presidents.

In addition to the base allowance for all senators, Maroto and Vara will have two supplements as vice presidents of 1,366.77 and 3,097.32 euros per month. To this must be added the 2,037.07 euros per month for belonging to constituencies other than Madrid.

And as for the four secretaries, the monthly salary that Eva Ortiz (PP), María Ángeles Luna (PSOE) and Francisco Fajardo (PSOE) will receive will amount to a total of 9,094 euros per month, while the Madrid senator María del Mar Blanco (PP) will receive 8,058 euros per month.
