The PP won the July elections among voters abroad, despite losing in 11 communities

MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Popular Party also won the general elections on July 23 among voters residing abroad, despite being defeated by the socialists in eleven communities and one autonomous city, according to the definitive data just proclaimed by the Central Electoral Board.

In those elections, 2.28 million Spaniards registered in the Electoral Census of Absent Residents (CERA) were called to the polls, but only a tenth exercised their right to vote in a timely manner (204,675 valid votes).

The most voted in the group of constituencies was the PP, with 66,422 votes compared to the 58,973 ballots added by the PSOE and the PSC. Unlike in the census as a whole, third place among foreign voters went to Sumar, which with 29,958 ballots defeated Vox, which obtained 22,680 votes.

According to the CERA data proclaimed this week by the JEC and collected by Europa Press, the PP sustained its victory in Madrid and Galicia, where it took an advantage of nearly 9,000 and 7,000 votes over the socialists, respectively, but it was the PSOE that led to victory in most regions, although in a tighter manner.

Thus, the socialists were the most voted among emigrants from Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, Navarra, Euskadi, the Valencian Community and the autonomous city of Ceuta, while the PP He won among those from Asturias, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Galicia, Madrid, La Rioja and Melilla.
