MADRID, 6 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP spokesperson in the Senate Investigation Commission on the so-called 'Koldo case', Luis Santamaría, has placed the start of the parliamentary investigation into the plot at the end of April, before the Catalan elections, even with the first appearances.

As explained this Saturday in an interview on RNE's 'Parliament' program, reported by Europa Press, next Monday will be when the parliamentary groups present the work plan. Subsequently, the commission will have to meet and agree to be able to summon the people who are going to appear and although there are electoral cycles in between, and therefore the Cortes are not in "full operation", they do not want to take long.

"It won't take long, the end of April, the beginning of May could be the beginning of the commission," he predicted, although he clarified that in order to meet this date it is necessary to see if the first sessions are already dedicated to choosing the appearing parties or to completing the organization of work.

Asked about the hypothetical presence of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in said commission, after the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo opened the door this Wednesday to the possibility of summoning him among those appearing, by assuring that if he does not answer the ' popular' will make you respond.

Santamaría considers that what the 'popular' leader did with that notice was to "give leeway" to Sánchez so that there was no need to call him. "He is asking him, on his own initiative, to give explanations that affect his closest personal and political circle and therefore himself," he explained.

However, questioned by Sánchez's statement that he is willing to appear if the 'popular' summon him, the PP senator has made it clear that he must do so "like any other Spaniard." "National sovereignty resides in the Cortes Generales and therefore he is subject, like any other Spaniard," he stressed, also discrediting that Sánchez's speech is "indifferent."

Regarding other possible appearances on which the 'popular' have focused since the plot of the 'Koldo case' became known, such as some socialist ministers or the president of Congress herself, Francina Armengol.

Santamaría, who last term was spokesperson for the PP in the Congressional investigation commission on the Kitchen operation, did not want to reveal the names of those appearing, but he did specify that they would be "all those who have something to do with the plot" and has reminded again that all Spaniards who are asked to appear are "obliged" to do so.

The person who has confirmed the name is former socialist advisor Koldo García Izaguirre, the epicenter of the plot. "I don't know if he will be the first, but he is undoubtedly one of the main protagonists of this plot and we are looking forward to him coming," he confirmed, because according to the PP senator we only know what the media publishes and his presence would be "very interesting".

Although he is also aware that the former advisor has the constitutional right not to testify. But he believes even if he decides not to testify, it does not mean that he does not have to listen to the questions and look at the Spaniards.

The PP senator has stressed that the objectives of this commission are, first of all, to "put light" where there has not been any and, on the other hand, for the parliamentary groups to be able to reach the necessary conclusions so that these situations do not become to produce and there is a little more control.
