The PP announces a "great act" in Madrid against the amnesty for the weekend before Feijóo's investiture

Support the Catalan Civil Society demonstration on October 8 in Barcelona and the "social mobilization"

The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, announced this Wednesday a "great event" for the weekend of September 23 and 24 in Madrid, the one before the investiture of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, so that citizens can show their " rejection" of a possible amnesty law for the 'procés'.

This was communicated in an interview on Antena 3, reported by Europa Press, in which he assured that the PP "will support and be at the side" of those who want to demonstrate against "outlaw pacts."

In this sense, Gamarra has given the PP's support to the demonstration on October 8 in Barcelona called by the Catalan Civil Society, which he recalled had an important role in opposing the illegal referendum of 2017.

Gamarra has indicated that the PP event, which will be open if time permits, will serve to denounce that "the only objective of oblivion, the amnesty, is to obtain a series of votes" that Pedro Sánchez "needs to remain in power." .

The PP will be with "all those citizens who freely and democratically want to demonstrate and want to say 'no' in their name, who do not want there to be an amnesty or a self-determination referendum, and even less so that there be one to politically buy votes and with that to stay in power," he insisted.

The 'number two' has advanced that they plan to use not only political instruments to oppose the possible amnesty, but "also instruments of social mobilization, because society asks for it."

Regarding the call by former Prime Minister José María Aznar to mobilize against an amnesty, Gamarra has accused the Government of "twisting", of taking his words out of context. And he has reproached the minister spokesperson for the Executive, Isabel Rodríguez, for not speaking about Puigdemont or criticizing Yolanda Díaz for meeting with him, a "fugitive" from justice.

"What the Government is looking for is not only hyperaction, but also generating smoke screens to avoid assuming its responsibilities," denounced Gamarra, who said that Aznar's words are just a call to mobilize against what "some people are proposing." outside the constitutional framework".

Asked about the conversations with Junts, Gamarra acknowledged that there have been "informal contacts and some messages" with the party of former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, as Feijóo admitted yesterday.

However, he stated that the rejection of the 'popular' to continue talking with Junts was "clear and forceful" when Puigdemont's people told them that they wanted amnesty and a referendum.

"The conditions that they pose for any type of conversation are serious enough so that the Popular Party has nothing to talk to them about," he argued.
