The Pope does not suffer from pneumonia and has spent a good night in the hospital

ROMA, 30 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Pope rested well tonight at the Policlinico Gemelli hospital in Rome where he was admitted this Wednesday afternoon with a diagnosis of a respiratory infection, Vatican sources have reported. According to the television channel Sky News 24, it has been ruled out that it is a severe acute respiratory infection, due to pneumonia, and has indicated that the pontiff did not have a fever.

Francis, who turned 86 in December, arrived at the hospital by ambulance, according to some Italian media, citing hospital sources, after suffering "some respiratory difficulties," the Vatican confirmed.

At the moment, all the commitments on his agenda scheduled for this Thursday and tomorrow Friday have been cancelled. It is expected that on April 2, Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion, the Pope will celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Passion after blessing the olive branches in Saint Peter's Square at ten in the morning.
