The PNV received the first call from the PSOE on Tuesday to try to obtain their support for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez as Prime Minister, as confirmed by the spokesman for the Basque Group in the Congress of Deputies, Aitor Esteban.

Esteban, in statements to La Sexta, reported by Europa Press, stated that this morning he received a phone call from "someone with important responsibilities" in the Socialist Party. "We are going to meet them and talk," he said.

The leader of the PNV has assured that they have not met yet, but that he is going to transfer the communication within the jeltzale party, and it will be seen "when they remain" with the PSOE. In any case, he has specified that they will not announce the meetings that they may hold with the Socialists or with other political groups.

"Of course, that does not mean that there can be a satisfactory result later. What it is about here, in the end, is that the voters have placed a puzzle here for us, which we must try to fix," he added.

In this sense, he has pointed out that his responsibility is to try to ensure that there are no new elections and that there may be an investiture. "If it is possible or not, if we are going to be able to do it together, we will see," he assured. In any case, he has remembered that the jeltzales have a program that they are going to defend.
