Rejects that FC Barcelona appears as a private accusation

BARCELONA, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The judge investigating the Negreira case, on alleged arbitration corruption, rejects that FC Barcelona appears as a private accusation, in a car in which he recalls that its current president, Joan Laporta, made payments similar to those allegedly attributed to Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, although in their case, the crime has prescribed.

In a resolution, to which Europa Press has had access, the head of the Court of Instruction 1 of Barcelona affirms that "it is contrary to all ethics that someone who committed acts identical to those of subsequent presidents intends to appear in the case exercising the accusation under the legal instrument of FC Barcelona, as if it were an abstract entity with its own 'I' separate from that of the club's directors".

He adds that "it is not ethically admissible for Laporta to accuse presidents Rosell and Bartomeu of the crime of disloyal administration, when there is more than ample evidence that Laporta committed the same acts as subsequent presidents."

These facts consist of "FC Barcelona having paid large amounts of money to José María Enríquez Negreira for being one of the vice presidents of the Technical Committee of Referees of the Royal Spanish Football Federation."

The judge rejects the appeal presented by the club against the resolution of June 26, 2023 in which he already rejected his appearance as an accusation in the case
