The Israeli ambassador goes to Foreign Affairs to give explanations for the criticism of Sánchez

MADRID, 27 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Israeli ambassador to Spain, Rodica Radian-Gordon, was summoned this afternoon at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give explanations for the criticism made by her Executive against the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, as diplomatic sources have informed Europa Press.

The diplomat came after the Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, announced on Friday that he was going to summon her after Israel announced that it was going to do the same with the Spanish ambassador in Tel Aviv, Ana Salomón, following the statements made by Sánchez since the Rafá crossing together with the Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander de Croo, which the Israeli Government considers to represent "support for terrorism" by Hamas.

The minister had not wanted to detail the call this morning in Barcelona, where he attended the Union for the Mediterranean Forum (UfM). He also did not reveal when the meeting would take place and who would receive it. In the case of the Spanish ambassador, she was received on Sunday by a director general of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

What Albares has said is that the words of the Israeli Government against Sánchez are "unacceptable" and "completely false."

In this sense, the minister has trusted that the ambassador will provide "clear" explanations and detail "why" these accusations occurred, and also "the guarantee that they will not occur again in the future."
