The Infoca considers the fire in Bonares (Huelva) stabilized and allows the evicted to return to their homes

BONARES (HUELVA), 6 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The forest firefighting service of Andalusia, Plan Infoca, has stabilized this Sunday the forest fire in Bonares (Huelva), as well as allowing all people affected by evictions and leaving their homes to return to their homes.

This has been reported to the media by the Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification of the Junta de Andalucía, Antonio Sanz, who has remarked that the alert for the fire has been lowered to zero level.

"Tonight's favorable evolution allows us to make the decision to consider the fire stabilized. We are taking an important step, which will allow us to lower the alert level and that all the people affected by evictions and leaving their homes can return" , has indicated Sanz, who has moved to the Advanced Command Post (PMA) installed in the Bonares fairgrounds.

Specifically, some 57 people have had to be evicted by these flames and have had to spend the night at the Bonares Municipal Sports Center.

Regarding the extinction work, the counselor explained that during the day four checkpoints with six trucks, a helicopter and an operation made up of 60 troops will continue in the area. "Hopefully everything continues to happen with this favorable evolution and soon we can consider the fire under control", he concluded.

On the other hand, Sanz has indicated that the flames have so far reached 450 hectares of forest area, since he has remarked that the perimeter traveled "does not mean that the area has caught fire or burned", for which reason he has indicated that the condition data "will have to be analyzed later through the satellite image."

Likewise, he has transferred that "since tonight the fire has not grown" and that the evolution "we can say that it has been frankly favourable." "The hot spots have been cooling, especially in the areas where there were homes, in addition to the fact that the perimeter has been closed through heavy machinery," he reported.

The fire has forced the preventive eviction of fifteen homes between Bonares and Lucena del Puerto --in the areas known as Huerta del Hambre and Los Lobos-- and the closure of the A-486 highways between kilometers 7 and 12, and the A -5001 between 0 and 1, as reported by the emergency management after the first coordination meeting was held at the Advanced Command Post (PMA).

The WFP has been installed in the Bonares fairgrounds in a truck parking located on the road from Bonares to Rociana. The WFP will jointly coordinate all the actions of the operational services. Along with Infoca's own media, the Civil Guard, Huelva Provincial Firefighters, the National Police Unit Attached to the Autonomous Community, the 061 emergency services in prevention, the Red Cross, the Local Police and the Group of Emergencies of Andalusia (GREA).
