The Infanta Elena goes sailing on the 'Alibabá II' and Juan Carlos I on board the 'Bribón'

SANXENXO (PONTEVEDRA), 30 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Infanta Elena has gone sailing on the 'Alibabá II', a boat that she won yesterday, while her father, Juan Carlos I, has done so on board the 'Bribón', which on Saturday reached second position.

Thus, shortly after 11:50 a.m., the ex-monarch arrived at the Sanxenxo marina in the car of his friend Pedro Campos, in which he occupied the co-driver's seat, and the Infanta Elena in the back of the driver's seat.

Once again, Juan Carlos I has entered the jetty directly, without making any statements, with the window up, and without stopping at the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo (RCNS).

As in the previous days, Juan Carlos I has greeted, from the co-pilot's seat, the people who have been located along the breakwater. Once inside the boathouse, he has been in the car for more than 15 minutes without getting off.

Thus, before Juan Carlos I, Elena came out, dressed in nautical clothing the same as the day before but with a red cap, and went to the bottom of the jetty where the 'Alibabá II', a ship in which the which has subsequently risen.

For his part, the ex-monarch spoke to a member of the 'Bribón' crew before descending the stairs. The emeritus king has dressed, on this day, in nautical clothing --white long-sleeved polo shirt, black pants, vest, cap and sunglasses--. As usual, with the help of an assistant he has gone down the stairs that lead to the jetty.

Once on the pier, the king emeritus, leaning on his cane, greeted the people on the breakwater who welcomed him with applause and cheers of 'Long live the king!' and long live don Juan Carlos!'. Once inside the 'Rascal' he has been talking to a crew member who has had his ear pulled up close.

In this way, minutes after 12:30 p.m. the 'Bribón', captained by the emeritus king, has cast off. On the starboard side, he was tied up by the semi-rigid auxiliary boat 'Cristina' until she went around the breakwater.

This is the third day of sailing for Juan Carlos I since he arrived in Galicia on Wednesday and the second of the XXIV Hotel Carlos I Silgar Trophy regatta for 6m class boats, which is also the fifth scoring for the V Spanish League Circuit of these kinds of boats.

The start time of the test this Sunday is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday's day, the first position was taken by the skippered 'Alibabá II', second place went to don Juan Carlos I's 'Bribón', and third was occupied by the sailboat 'Aida'.
