The Government admits that it takes care of the police deployment during the visits of the king emeritus, but does not give details

MADRID, 10 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government admits that it is responsible for the necessary police deployment during the visits of King Juan Carlos I to Spain, but avoids giving details about it, claiming that it is information classified as secret.

This is how the Executive has responded to a series of questions posed in writing by the deputy of the Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), Néstor Rego, who wanted to know the type of device used in these visits, its cost, if it is carried out by personnel from the State Security Forces and Corps and if resources from other areas are mobilized when the previous head of State travels to Galicia.

"As on previous occasions, for the arrival of King Juan Carlos de Borbón, the necessary and precise measures and police deployment have been adopted, with the means that exist to guarantee the security of the former Head of State," the Executive responded, in a writing collected by Europa Press.

However, Rego does not obtain the details it had requested since the Government claims that these "protection plans" are "classified as reserved."

Likewise, the BNG deputy had called on the Government to comment on the successive visits of Juan Carlos I to Galicia, which for this group represent "a joke" because "privileged treatment is granted to a corrupt former Head of State, with five tax crimes to his credit, in addition to others of bribery and money laundering".

"It is not up to the Government to assess the private activity of His Majesty King Juan Carlos de Borbón," they reply from Moncloa, in a response in which they also specify that "the immediate security of the Royal Family" is "the responsibility of the Security Service of the Casa del Rey" and that the Interior only deals with the necessary police deployment.
