The Generalitat will make a list of "priority projects" for the Government to execute in Catalonia

It will also do "comprehensive, long-term planning" of investments

BARCELONA, 15 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

This Monday, the Generalitat established the Strategic Investment Committee, responsible for preparing a "list of priority projects" that the Government must execute in Catalonia.

The Minister of Economy of the Generalitat, Natàlia Mas, has explained that later it will be transferred to the bilateral commission agreed by both Executives in the framework of the investiture of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

And he trusts that, with the list, Catalonia will leave "this deficit in the execution of State investments behind."

Also attending this Monday's meeting were the Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, and the Minister of Territory, Ester Capella, along with the general secretaries of all the departments.

On the other hand, Mas has stressed that the organization will allow "comprehensive, long-term planning of the main investments that Catalonia needs" and accompany the investment effort of the Generalitat, whose increase has been estimated at almost 40% between 2020 and until 2023.

After investment has "remained very reduced" after the economic crisis, Mas has maintained that in view of the 2024 Budgets, the Generalitat will increase it by 10%.

Vilagrà has highlighted that this commission will --verbatim-- follow up and monitor state investments in Catalonia and has defended that, in the negotiations with the Government, "the fine print is clearly expressed and specified, because the words and pages are takes them to the wind."

He stressed that, with the constitution of this committee, the Catalan Executive "complies" with what it had agreed to implement, and has expressed the desire to convey information on execution to the citizens.

Capella has defended that management commissions are "a tool to make effective" state investments in Catalonia.
