BARCELONA, 26 Ene. (EUROPA PRES) -
The former director of the CNI Paz Esteban testified for approximately one hour before the 29th Court of Instruction of Barcelona, which is investigating her for espionage with the Pegasus software on the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès.
Esteban has declared from Madrid and has connected by videoconference with Barcelona, a connection that has had computer failures that have delayed the start of the declaration, initially scheduled for 12.
Esteban's statement comes after the Government has declassified part of the documents in relation to the espionage of Aragonès, from which it appears that the tapping of his telephone was authorized because the CNI believed that he was the one who directed the Defense Committees of the Republic (CDR), and the judge has warned the parties that they may commit a crime if they reveal the content of the statement.
