MADRID, 11 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The 'barons' of the PP have conspired with the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for a "strong opposition" from their territories against the acting head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, in the face of the independence "challenge" that he is willing to accept to continue in La Moncloa. This opposition must also include the "social sphere."

This has been pointed out by 'popular' sources who attended the "relaxed" lunch that was held at the PP headquarters after the meeting of the National Board of Directors - the highest body of the party between congresses - where Feijóo received a new "closing of ranks" and "support" of their own in the face of the PP offensive after the ordeal of former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont.

Before the senior staff of the PP, Feijóo has announced that the Popular Party will use "all democratic instruments" to make it clear that the PP "is not going to consist" of the "nonsense" posed by separatism with an Amnesty Law and that the socialists They seem willing to accept.

For now, they will force the PSOE to portray itself in Parliaments and city councils throughout Spain through motions in defense of the equality of Spaniards. "We are looking for some socialists, those who are not on the payroll, to say what they think," sources from Feijóo's team have indicated.

The PP wants the texts of these motions to be put to a vote "as soon as possible" to see in every corner that the PP is not going to "whitewash" Puigdemont nor is it going to "allow" the "barbarities" that he proposes to support the investiture , training sources have indicated.

In fact, this will be one of the main arguments that Feijóo will include in his speech for the investiture debate of Congress - scheduled for next September 26 and 27 -, in which he will highlight the red lines that, unlike Sánchez is not willing to transfer. Although he has not yet started writing it, he is gathering opinions that he will later be able to incorporate into his intervention, according to 'popular' sources.

"It is an investiture debate not only about the seriousness of the proposed project but also about where we all stand," a person with an office in Genoa summarizes to Europa Press, who emphasizes that the seriousness lies in the fact that the head of the Executive in office is open to negotiating the demands of the independence movement.

Feijóo wants to use the territorial power that the PP now has with its presidents to amplify its messages and the 'barons' have endorsed their leader's strategy of making a common front against Sánchez for the amnesty.

"He is clear about what needs to be done and gives us all peace of mind," highlighted an autonomous president after lunch at the national headquarters of the PP, adding that this meeting has been like doing "group therapy" and, in the end, all have made themselves "at the disposal" of Feijóo.

In this sense, the sources consulted have indicated that the 'barons' have shared with the PP leader that "strong opposition from the territories", but also from the "social sphere" to transfer the PP's position to other sectors of society. civil.

During the National Board of Directors of the PP, the party's general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, spoke behind closed doors to report on the party's performance after the general elections and the contacts that the party will have this week.

Thus, on Thursday Gamarra will meet in Congress with the parliamentary spokesperson of the PNV, Aitor Esteban. This Tuesday it will be the general secretary of the Popular Group, Carlos Rojas, who will meet with Sumar's spokesperson, Marta Lois. Furthermore, the parliamentary spokesperson of the PP is waiting for the only BNG deputy, Néstor Rego, to confirm whether he is willing to hold a meeting in order to, if so, be able to set the date, as reported by the 'popular'.

Behind closed doors, at the meeting of the Board of Directors, only the Aragonese Jorge Azcón has taken the floor, who has made a fiery defense of the equality of the Spanish people. The meeting has had the absence of several 'barons' due to agenda reasons, such as the Andalusian Juanma Moreno, the Extremaduran María Guardiola, the Murcian López Miras - today he took office -, the Galician Alfonso Rueda, or the Balearic Marga Prohens.

The president of the Popular Party of Catalonia, Alejandro Fernández, who had an event in El Vendrell (Tarragona) on the occasion of the Diada, has not attended either. In recent weeks the distance between Fernández and the PP leadership has been more visible.

PP sources have justified the absence of these PP presidents by alleging that the Board of Directors was scheduled for last Monday but the storm forced Feijóo to postpone it for a week. And this Monday, they continued, several of them already had closed events to kick off the political course in their territories.

Specifically, the subsequent lunch with Feijóo in 'Génova' was attended by nine regional or PP presidents - Madrid, Castilla y León, Valencian Community, Aragón, La Rioja, Cantabria, Basque Country, Navarra and Castilla-La Mancha-, the general secretary of the party, the general coordinator, Elías Bendodo, and the chief of staff of the PP leader, Marta Varela, according to 'popular' sources. The meal consisted of a kind of mashed salad that, according to one of those present, was "more dietary" than other times.
