The Balearic Islands deliver the decertification file to the National Court to prove damage in the Koldo case

"The economic damage is evident. We think that the National Court will reconsider this appearance," he declared.

PALMA, 8 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Balearic Health Service (IbSalut), through the Autonomous Community Lawyers' Office, has delivered to the National Court the decertification file for the expense of purchasing masks to "prove the damage" of the CCAA and "continue with the "personation" of the Government as an injured party in the case investigating the purchase of protective masks for the value of 3.7 million euros through the company Soluciones de Gestión.

This was announced this Friday by the Government spokesperson, Antoni Costa, at the press conference after the Government Council, after the judge rejected the appearance of the Balearic Executive in the Koldo case, considering that, since the fraudulent masks were paid for, With European funds, there is no harm to the autonomous administration.

Costa has indicated that the Balearic Executive understands that "there are sufficient elements" to carry out the appearance and claim the full amount of the contract for the purchase of masks. Thus, he has referred to the process initiated by his Ministry - Economy, Finance and Innovation -, a file for decertification of expenditure that in practice implies giving up the funds. The Executive justifies this action in compliance with anti-fraud protocols and Feder regulations.

Likewise, he explained that the decertification has also been done to prevent a potential suspension of funds by the EU. "I hope it doesn't happen," Costa remarked. "The economic damage is evident and, consequently, we think that the National Court will reconsider this representation of the Autonomous Community in this case," he insisted.

"We demonstrate that we are clearly the injured party," he argued, considering that "it would be incoherent for the Court not to agree" with the Autonomous Community and that, they trust, "it will make the decision that the Balearic Islands can appear."
