The funeral service and mass are scheduled to be celebrated on the same Wednesday in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception of Elorrio.

BILBAO, 8 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The funeral chapel of the former Lehendakari, José Antonio Ardanza, will be installed this coming Wednesday in Ajuria Enea and that same day his funeral will be held in Elorrio (Bizkaia). The Basque Government has decreed three days of official mourning.

Lehendakaritza has announced the events planned to mark the death this Monday of Ardanza, Lehendakari from 1985 to 1999, at 82 years of age.

On the occasion of his death, Urkullu will appear this Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Lehendakaritza, to make public an institutional statement.

In addition, the Basque Government has decreed three days of official mourning from this Monday at 3:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday for his death, according to a Decree that will be published in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country this Monday.

The burning chapel of the former Lehendakari, José Antonio Ardanza, will be installed this coming Wednesday morning, between 10:00 and 14:00, in Ajuria Enea.

For its part, the funeral service and mass are scheduled to be celebrated on the same Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. in the Basilica of the Purísima Concepción in the Biscayan town of Elorrio, where Ardanza was born.
