Civil Protection of the Generalitat has deactivated the alert of the Special Plan for aeronautical emergencies (Aerocat) and the special one for radiological emergencies (Radcat) when it did not detect danger in a damaged box containing radioactive material at the Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
As reported by the Generalitat in a note in 'X' collected by Europa Press, the measures and checks carried out by the Civil Protection Coordination Service for Radioactive Activities (Scar) have given a score of 0.
The alert was activated this Tuesday morning after emergency services detected damage to the outer cardboard that protected a box with "low-intensity" radioactive material in a package from the hold of an Air Swiss aircraft.
