Sumar replies to Podemos that its weight in the lists is guaranteed and does not extend the deadline: the coalition registers this afternoon

"We will not accept that Podemos takes us to the stage of Andalusia", in reference to the checkered record of the coalition 'Por Andalucía'

MADRID, 9 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Sumar has replied to the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, that the presence and representation of the purple party in the coalition is "widely guaranteed" and that this afternoon they will register it with the Electoral Board without further delaying the negotiations.

"We will not accept that Podemos take us to the stage of Andalusia", they have indicated from the formation led by the second vice president in reference to the checkered record of the candidacy 'For Andalusia' (Podemos, IU and Más País) in the last regional elections in this region, which occurred shortly before the legal deadline.

Therefore, from Sumar they emphasize that Podemos has enough positions in future electoral lists, "how could it be otherwise" with the pact proposal that they have transferred to the purple ones.

However, Belarra has criticized that with the offer of Díaz's instrumental party they run the risk of not getting deputies in Congress and that the vice president's team has stressed that the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, is an "insurmountable obstacle" for to be able to gestate the broad confluence between fifteen progressive parties.

In this way, he has urged to continue negotiating to rethink the terms of the agreement, since they do not accept the veto of the purple leader and an agreement can be reached without having to wait for the last minute of the term.

"From Yolanda Díaz's negotiating team, we have been told that the presence of Irene Montero in the team that contests the next general elections is an insurmountable obstacle to reaching a unity agreement," the leader of the purple party launched in her speech .

In this regard, Belarra has acknowledged that she is "deeply saddened" that Díaz, through her negotiators, proposes that the coalition agreement with Sumar be built on the exclusion of Montero, who has "taken feminist transformations further than anyone before in this country".

After praising the regulations that the head of Equality has promoted, he has criticized that they are asked to "sacrifice" their main political asset, to report that Montero has made himself available to the party and "do whatever is necessary" in favor of the unity, alluding to their voluntary withdrawal from the lists.

However, Belarra has stressed that his response as leader of Podemos and the rest of the members of the secretariat is that his veto is "not only an injustice but a tremendous political error."
