Sumar has already registered the coalition with fifteen progressive formations to compete in a unity candidacy for the general elections on July 23.

Among the formations that sign the agreement is Drago Canarias, the Aragonese Chunta, Alianza Verde, En Comú Podem, IU, Ara Més, Más Madrid, Más País, Podemos, Compromís, Iniciativa del Pueblo Andaluz, Verdes Equo, Izquierda Asturiana and Batzarre.

In this way, the signature is produced without running out of time to formalize the coalition before the Electoral Board, given that the deadline to complete the process expired before midnight this Friday.

The culmination of this broad pact comes amid tension with the purple party, which maintains its protest over the "veto" of the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, and over its quota on the electoral lists, which in its opinion endangers its representation. .

From the party led by the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, they emphasize that it is the "broadest and most plural agreement reached in the entire democratic stage in Spain between progressive and green forces."

"The plurality of Sumar is the plurality of the country and we want to make it a sign of identity of this electoral coalition, which constitutes the main alternative for progressive citizens to regain hope," they have deepened.

He also stressed that the agreement is "a reflection of the effort and generosity of very diverse political forces", the first step to "build an exciting, feminist and winning project that always puts social and climate justice at the center, with the world of work within".

On social networks, the leader of the IU, Enrique Santiago, has highlighted that "the broadest agreement for unity of the left in Spain is already a reality with Sumar, to explain that now is the moment for unity."
