The Sumar party, led by Vice President Yolanda Díaz, has incorporated the leader of Podemos Alejandra Jacinto into its team as housing spokesperson, who on May 28 was a candidate for the purple party in the regional elections for the Community of Madrid.

Jacinto was head of the Podemos list and is part of its executive as head of housing. His signing occurs one day after the announcement of the Secretary of State for Social Rights and leader of Podemos, Nacho Álvarez, as spokesman for the economic area of the Sumar campaign team for the July 23 elections.

The Podemos list that Jacinto headed on May 28 did not get representation in the Madrid Assembly. Now, in addition to serving as spokesperson, he will occupy the 15th position on Sumar's ballot for the Congress of Deputies for Madrid.

This was announced by Sumar this Tuesday on Twitter, where he specified that he will be the spokesperson for housing. "No one better than her to defend this right. We are going to change the housing paradigm in Spain so that people have a decent home without spending all their salary to pay for it," she has valued.

Jacinto, who before entering politics worked as a lawyer and activist for the Right to Housing in the Platform for People Affected by Mortgages (PAH), was signed by Pablo Iglesias for his candidacy for the Madrid regional elections in May 2021. In On that occasion, Jacinto ran for a prominent position as an independent candidate.

Sumar has also captured some profiles associated with the purple party for his campaign team, such as the MEP and head of United Podemos lists in the last community elections of 2019, María Eugenia Rodríguez Palop, as coordinator of the electoral program, as well as other positions that had links with Podemos, such as the former leader of the formation Pablo Bustinduy.

In addition, it has recovered the former general secretary of Podemos Euskadi Lander Martínez for the electoral lists for Vizcaya, who resigned from his position in 2020 and in his day was considered close to the 'errejonista' sector.
