STATEMENT: The Catalan company TotalCare Europe celebrates its tenth anniversary maintaining sustained growth

· TotalCare Europe, a benchmark in the manufacturing and distribution of products for people with reduced mobility, closes 2023 with 10 million in turnover and ranks first in Spain in terms of sales of folding electric wheelchairs.

· Among the strategic growth data for 2023, there is the opening of a new warehouse in Barcelona of 2,000 m2, a new office in Madrid and the entry into the Portuguese market

· The main objectives for 2024 are: the launch of 20 new products, such as the first folding electric wheelchair for children; the opening of a new headquarters in the Basque Country and the landing in the Italian market

The Catalan company TotalCare Europe, specialized in products for mobility assistance, has continued to grow steadily since 2015. The company has closed the 2023 financial year with a turnover of 10 million euros, 11% more than the previous year.

This growth is due to being the sales leader in Spain of folding electric wheelchairs for the last 10 years; to expansion into new markets –both national and international–; and the expansion of distribution points such as orthopedics and pharmacies.

TotalCare Europe is thus among the 3 companies in the sector with the highest turnover in the country and stands out for being the only manufacturer that offers a complete range of products for reduced mobility, from walkers, manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, scooters, cranes and other technical aids.

During the course of 2023, the company has inaugurated 2 new spaces that have been added to the existing headquarters in Barcelona (Rubí), where the headquarters is located, and to the delegations in Valencia and the Canary Islands. On the one hand, a new 2,000 m2 storage warehouse has been opened in Barcelona, ​​which has allowed it to improve its logistical capacity (being able to hold up to 30,000 units of product), as well as its guarantee of supply to distribution points. On the other hand, the company has inaugurated a new headquarters in Madrid, which is strengthening its presence in the center and south of the country, while improving the competitiveness of customer service. To cover the northern area of ​​Spain, in 2024 it plans to open a new location in the Basque Country.

2023 has represented the internationalization of TotalCare, since since April it has already had a presence in Portugal, a market that expects to contribute 4% of the total turnover in 2024. Likewise, the company plans to continue increasing its presence in the European market. During this year, Italy will be the next country where it will begin to market its products.

TotalCare Europe, which currently has a staff of 48 workers, seeks to continue its growth and its objective is to close the 2024 financial year with a turnover of 13 million euros.

The first folding electric wheelchair for children on the Spanish market and available in Social Security

The Barcelona company plans to launch a total of 20 new products during 2024. Among them stands out the first folding electric wheelchair for children on the Spanish market, which will launch next March and will be available through Social Security.

To date, TotalCare has focused on items for adults with reduced mobility, of which a high percentage are seniors. This year, the company has also decided to cover the children's social segment with mobility difficulties, made up of more than 45,000 boys and girls between 6 and 16 years old, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, INE.

The new design will cover a highly demanded need: greater autonomy for children and young people with mobility problems, as well as for their families. Its size adjusts to the child's growth and has remarkably small dimensions and a weight of less than 19 kg, and can be transported in a standard trunk.

Other novelties will be the new folding electric wheelchairs made of carbon fiber, which will be presented to the market in the spring of this year. Carbon fiber allows the development of very resistant and light items at the same time. The result will be chairs weighing less than 15 kg, having reduced the weight of a conventional chair by 50%.

TotalCare also plans to launch new scooters before the summer, which will consolidate the company as the leading scooter brand in Spain.

Bet on I D I

The optimization of products and new launches is due to the fact that TotalCare continues to focus on I D I and this is demonstrated by the €200,000 investment it made in this area last 2023, 30% more than in 2022. This increase is due to the expansion of the industrial design team, as well as an increase in prototyping and engineering development.

Being fundamental in the context of growth and technological advancement, the company plans to continue increasing investment and allocate a total of 250,000 euros to I D I throughout this year.
