Spanish Left appeals to those dissatisfied with the PSOE and censures Sánchez's pacts for "degrading equality"

MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the Spanish Left, Guillermo del Valle, this Wednesday reproached PSOE and Sumar for the pacts reached with nationalist formations after the 23J elections, which in his opinion "degrade equality" among Spaniards, and aspires to capture the electorate dissatisfied with the left-wing parties that, he believes, do not feel represented due to collusion with "nationalism and identitarianism."

Spanish Left, a party already registered in the Ministry of the Interior's party registry, confirmed on Tuesday its intention to participate in the European elections in June as an alternative to the PSOE. Specifically, he defends an "egalitarian option from the left to the policies carried out by the current Government."

As Del Valle explained this Wednesday in an interview with Onda Cero, collected by Europa Press, the electoral niche of the Spanish Left is the progressive and left-wing electorate currently "orphaned" because "they do not understand the complicity" of PSOE and Sumar with " nationalisms and identitarianisms" and forgets equality. "To a large extent, equality has been replaced by identity," he summarized.

The director of the think tank El Jacobino, who considers himself "a person on the left", focuses most of his speech on the defense of equality between citizens and the defense of "the common", which he sees as "the "normal and natural." Therefore, he rejects the agreements of the PSOE and Sumar with nationalist and independentist formations, which he considers "reactionary forces" and, as such, put "reactionary policies, such as the breakup of the common Treasury," on the table.

"The vast majority of PSOE and Sumar voters are in these positions and do not fully understand that the great reference of the official left today is to tell us that (Carles) Puigdemont is a progressive character," he insisted, before stating that these " gentlemen are economically liberal and have proven to be racist, xenophobic, they have talked about holes in the DNA or stupid beasts.

However, the rejection of the PSOE is not total. During his speech, he opened up to supporting the PSOE occasionally and with some issues, such as the increase in the minimum wage, for example. "We can have a dialogue and we are going to have it, we are not a sectarian formation, things have been done well and we are not going to deny it," he indicated.

But Del Valle, who was active and had a place in the leadership of Union, Progress and Democracy (UPyD), has been critical of the president of the Government, whom he believes to be "a person with no greater ideology than personal survival and power at all costs." coast, has no other ideology than himself".

Along these lines, he has denied that the Spanish Left was born to "play into the hands of the right." He has stressed that his party does not want "a right-wing government with the extreme right", in reference to PP and Vox, because it does not have a "neoliberal vision of the economy nor are they conservative."

And, furthermore, he has placed himself "very far" from the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who, according to him, has exhibited "regionalist, Galician approaches" that are not at the service of equality.

This position of the 'popular' president, like the complicity of the left with nationalism, is the opposite of what the Spanish Left defends, which advocates reviewing the state of the autonomies "without dogmatism" and believes the defense of rights is "antithetical." historical aspects of the provincial territories with the egalitarian conception of the left.

Del Valle has also referred to proper names that make up the Spanish Left project. He has listed "people who come from the most transformative left": they have participated in Izquierda Unida, such as Juan Francisco Martín Seco; in the PSOE, like Soraya Rodríguez; They are "in talks" with Nicolás Redondo; and they are also part of the social democratic sector of Ciudadanos, such as Félix Ovejero and Francisco Igea. Of course, he has denied that Izquierda Española is a formation built on "the rubble" of UPyD and Ciudadanos.
