Sánchez will go to Congress next week to talk about Ukraine, Morocco and the EU

MADRID, 11 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will appear next week, specifically on Wednesday the 19th, before the Plenary Session of Congress to report on the European Councils that have taken place since last February as well as on the evolution of the conflict in Ukraine and relations between Spain and Morocco.

This is how it will be agreed this Tuesday by the Board of Spokespersons of Congress, which will be in charge of designing the agenda for next week's plenary session.

As parliamentary sources have advanced to Europa Press, for Wednesday, before the control session, this appearance is going to fit in, in which various issues that the President of the Government had pending to deal with in the Chamber for weeks will accumulate.

It was on February 21 when the Board of Spokespersons gave free rein to two requests to appear registered by the PP so that the Chief Executive could report on Spain's commitments in relation to the war in Ukraine and on the agreements reached in the last bilateral summit with Morocco, especially around the Sahara.

These requests from the first opposition party had the support of Vox and Ciudadanos, but also of Unidas Podemos and government allies such as ERC and the Plural and Mixed Groups. In the end, they were also backed by the PSOE, according to what sources from the Popular Group pointed out at the time.

For his part, at the end of March, Sánchez himself requested to appear to report on the conclusions of the latest European Council meetings. Specifically, the extraordinary event that took place on February 9 as well as the one that was held on the 23rd and 24th of last month.
