Respond to Feijóo that sexist violence "is always unjustifiable": "Neither hard divorces nor soft divorces"

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 24 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government and PSOE candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has asked not to underestimate "the power of destruction and setback" of the agreements between the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, who "are a bridge to the past".

This was stated this Saturday by the also general secretary of the PSOE in an act in Tenerife, in which he warned that not going to vote or doing so "regardless of whom" may mean that after the elections on July 23, Spain will encounter political agreements such as those that have been reached between PP and Vox after the municipal and regional elections on July 28.

"Free areas are created, as they say, of the LGTBI collective, LGTBI flags are removed from the facades of town halls, they agree that there are no concentrations of rejection against sexist violence, it is said that there is no sexist violence or the councils are changed of equality by family departments, as if the terms of equality and family were in conflict", he lamented.

In this sense, he has also criticized Feijóo's statements in relation to the Vox candidate for the Valencian Generalitat, Carlos Flores, who was convicted of verbal violence towards his ex-partner. "He had a tough divorce and he verbally abused his ex-wife," the "popular" president said in an interview.

"Neither hard divorces nor soft divorces. Sexist violence is always unjustifiable," Sánchez replied, to regret these words of the PP leader in the framework of "the impudent exchange between rights and votes" that he has made with Vox.

Sánchez has also claimed the economic measures of his Executive. "The Spanish economy is going like a motorcycle and that is not a coincidence", he asserted, to warn that the PP wants to "repeal what works" in this regard, which would be "flung the economy".

"What is the strategy of the Popular Party and the extreme right? They are repealing sanchismo. And repealing sanchismo is nothing more than a total absence of a credible, solvent, clear economic plan for the citizenry, and also a mixture of social setback and fiscal injustice", he added in this regard.

On the other hand, he has ridiculed the "false and tricky dilemma" that Feijóo raises with that of "Sánchez or Spain". "And if I said: Feijóo or happiness or Feijóo or planet earth? Would you tell me: 'this man is kidding me'", he exposed, to compare this with "homeland or death" or the words of former US president Donald 2016 Trump of "Socialism or America".

Sánchez has thus warned of the "danger" of these dilemmas that "only generate hatred", before which he has vindicated the PSOE as the party that defends a Spain "in which everyone fits".

In this way, he has called on the public to vote to avoid "what is being seen" after the "progressive demobilization" of May 28: "That in the Spain of vaccination, which has been an example throughout the world, the presidencies of regional parliaments are occupied by scientific deniers who say, with great honor, that they did not vaccinate themselves or their children".

Likewise, he has called on Feijóo to say "less lies" and debate to "clarify exactly what are the proposals he has for next July 23", an aspect in which he has highlighted that the PSOE wants to govern four more years for " consolidate advances" such as those achieved with the "200 laws" that have been carried out in recent years.

"We ask for and seek re-election for two very powerful arguments: so that Spain continues to advance and so that Spain does not go back 5, 10, or 50 years as Abascal wants and as Feijóo wants," Sánchez cried.
