Sánchez says that the objectives of Spain and Italy are "very aligned", highlighting the Migration Pact

ROME (ITALY), 5 Apr. (From the special envoy of Europa Press, Daniel Blanco) -

The head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, has claimed this Wednesday before the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, that the objectives of both countries are "very aligned", immediately highlighting the Migration and Asylum Pact, demanding economic resources to make against the "challenge of irregular immigration".

For his part, Meloni has valued the "agreement" between the two countries to ask for specific initiatives against immigration at the next European Council, such as structural solutions to the problems of North Africa, ensuring that Europe today looks "with much more attention "to the defense of its external borders.

This was stated by both leaders during a joint institutional declaration from the Chigi Palace in Rome after holding a meeting as part of the tour that Pedro Sánchez has undertaken to prepare for the Spanish Presidency of the European Council in the second half of the year.
