Sánchez replies to Feijóo that Vox is not a constitutionalist because it threatens to outlaw parties

He defends his pacts in the legislature again because they have been to achieve progress while PP and Vox agree to cut rights

SANTANDER, July 13. (EUROPEAN PRESS) -

The President of the Government and PSOE candidate for the general elections, Pedro Sánchez, replied this Thursday to the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, by pointing out that Vox is not a constitutionalist party.

In this way, he wanted to contradict Feijóo, who last Monday affirmed that Santiago Abascal's party is constitutionalist, in the 'face to face' electoral debate between the leaders of PSOE and PP.

Thus, it has vindicated the PSOE as the only party that has remained standing since 1978, the year in which the Magna Carta was drawn up. Thus, he has indicated that "the extreme right" will be a "constitutional" party like all the parties that stand in the elections because it abides by the Constitution.

"That is the great virtue of our Constitution, which is so broad, open and inclusive that even those who do not share its principles and values are represented and can stand for election," he said.

However, it has made Feijóo ugly for speaking of Vox as a "constitutionalist" party and has assured that it is not because it goes against political pluralism, threatens to outlaw political parties, goes against tolerance and respect for diversity and also, as he has pointed out, it calls into question the equality between men and women.

"Excuse me, Mr. Feijóo, but Vox is not a constitutionalist", he concluded, in an act with militants in Santander, attended by around 2,000 PSOE sympathizers, among those who have managed to access the venue and those who have had to stay outside, according to party sources.

In addition, Sánchez has shown himself convinced that the PSOE is going to win the elections on July 23 and has asked the Socialists to put up a fight and to be proud of everything they have done during these five years.

Thus, he has indicated that there are many more who want Spain to advance in the face of the setback that, in his opinion, would mean a victory for the right. "On June 23, the advance will win and the setback will lose, the PSOE will win and Feijóo and Abascal will lose," he exclaimed.

In this sense, he has warned against the consequences that a PP and Vox government would have. "On July 24 we are going to govern for all those artists who are being censored in the towns where the Popular Party governs with Vox. We are going to win for a free culture," he proclaimed.

Also, to defend the rights of workers and pensioners who are being put at risk with their "repeal threats" of the labor and pension reform approved by their government, he said.

Along the same lines, she has expressed the need for a progressive government so that women can live free, equal and safe, and so that young people have an Executive that cares for the environment and is committed to the fight against climate change.

"And we are going to win through tolerance, respect and coexistence in our country. On July 23 the advance will win and the setback will lose," he insisted.

Along these same lines, he has defended the pacts that his government has carried out throughout the legislature and has insisted that he has sought votes "even under the stones" to achieve social progress.

On the contrary, it has blamed PP and Vox for their agreements to stop talking about sexist violence and replace it with domestic violence, end the equality departments in town halls, remove LGTBI flags from public buildings or censor plays.

"That is the big difference, we agree with whomever it takes to advance rights and freedoms in our country and they agree with Vox to curtail rights and freedoms."
