The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has guaranteed that the Government "will collaborate with the recovery" of the area affected by the fire that started this Thursday in Villanueva de Viver (Castellón) and that it has spread to Teruel, "as soon as it is extinguished this fire."
During the press conference on the occasion of the European Council, Sánchez lamented the fire that covers a perimeter of 30 kilometers and affects more than 1,500 people who have had to be evacuated. In this context, he has indicated that he has spoken with the president of the Valencian Community, Ximo Puig, with whom he follows "closely" the evolution of the fire after the weather conditions worsened this Thursday due to the strong wind in the area. .
"Unfortunately, we are facing the first major fire this year and it is also taking place out of season," stressed Sánchez, who has expressed "all the support" of the Government to the public servants who are fighting the fire and to the citizens affected by the "devastation of the flames", especially to those who have had to be evacuated and leave their homes.
Finally, the president has asked citizens for "maximum prudence, maximum caution" to all citizens in the face of this "terrible and devastating" fire.
In any case, it has guaranteed the collaboration of the Government in the extinction work and has promised that it will put "all the resources available" to help the Generalitat Valenciana to try to minimize the consequences and has added that the Executive "will collaborate in recovery as soon as the fire is extinguished.
