Sánchez highlights the creation of 555,500 jobs in one year and places housing as a priority of the legislature

The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, affirmed this Monday that the reforms undertaken by his Executive over the last few years are working, as demonstrated by the fact that Social Security affiliation has increased by 550,500 people in the last year.

During the inauguration of 'Los Desayunos del Ateneo' at the Ateneo de Madrid, Sánchez stressed that the Spanish economy "grows more than any other major economy in the euro zone" and presents one of the "lowest inflation rates in Europe".

"We have one of the record employment data, while we enjoy something very precious in these troubled times such as social peace," added the acting head of the Executive, who also emphasized the record figures for tourism, particularly international tourism.

Likewise, Sánchez stressed that Spain is "a leading country in the execution of European funds" and that it has made "immense progress" in the double ecological and digital transition, which explains, in his opinion, "a good part of the prosperity and the progress of the citizens".

However, the acting President of the Government has acknowledged that there is still "a lot of work to do and new levels of well-being to achieve." "That is why it is so important that Spain forms a Government as soon as possible and that that Government is stable," he added.

Sánchez has pointed out that the "new paths of progress" involve continuing to modernize the Spanish economy and "consolidating" training systems so that they offer better opportunities and better jobs, especially to young people.

To this end, he added, "it is necessary to continue deploying European funds, to continue reindustrializing Spain, each and every one of its regions, each and every one of its territories, and to consolidate the major educational reforms that have been undertaken."

At the same time, Sánchez has highlighted the need to continue promoting the ecological transition; modernize and strengthen public services, and reduce inequality, starting "with the greatest source of inequality": access to housing.

"What we have to do is convert (access to housing) into a new pillar of the Welfare State and that will be one of the main causes for the next legislature", stated the acting President of the Government.
