Simeone: "No player has personally asked me to leave the club"

MADRID, 17 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Atlético de Madrid coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, confessed this Tuesday that "no player" has asked him "personally to leave the club", although he added that they are "prepared" for any arrival or departure in the squad, at the same time that he highlighted the "continuous good growth" of the team after the World Cup.

"We are prepared for anything that can happen, we understand the market and we have very good players. People have always arrived or left, we understand the game we are in. No player has personally asked me to leave the club," he said at the conference press ahead of the Copa del Rey round of 16 duel against Levante this Wednesday (9:00 p.m.).

Without giving specific names, Simeone focused on the K.O tournament match, which they arrive after "a good match" in Almería, despite the draw (1-1). "With the peace of mind and the confidence that we have in the players, the goals will come," he assured, before analyzing Levante. "Our rival is doing things extraordinarily well since his coach arrived. It will be a very nice stadium and a good team," he said.

And it is that the rojiblanca squad is "with enthusiasm" and "great enthusiasm to reverse this situation" against the Granota team. "It's been a season from regular to bad, with good growth after the World Cup. We hope to continue that path," he explained about the run of results, after the setbacks against FC Barcelona and the Andalusian team.

"Since we returned from the World Cup, we are playing better, the team is continuously growing. They did not win or draw against Barça, nor could we be forceful against Almería, but I am looking for the positive and I see the team better. Hopefully we can continue in this I walk with the forcefulness necessary to win and score goals", he reiterated.

Finally, Simeone did not want to judge Ezequiel Ponce's goal for Elche in which the referee himself for the match against Cádiz, Carlos del Cerro Grande, recognized an error from the VAR to the Andalusian team coach, in which it was the final 1- one. "I did not see the end of the Elche game, I did not see the play and I cannot comment, seriously," he remarked, before confirming that Rodrigo de Paul, without much prominence after the World Cup, will play against Levante.
