Second consecutive night of protests in Argentina against Milei's economic measures

Thousands of people demonstrated during the night of this Thursday in various parts of Argentina for the second consecutive night in protest against the economic measures announced by the country's president, Javier Milei.

Those attending the marches have gone to Congress, where they have banged their pots, and to the Plaza de Mayo, where the Association of Nursing Graduates held a "torch march" to demand their professional recognition and against the decree. of the president.

They have also demonstrated in the city of Viedma and in different towns in the province of Jujuy, which they have considered to be "a coup d'état against national interests", as reported by the Argentine news agency Télam.

The protests against the DNU were replicated in the Buenos Aires towns of Morón and San Miguel, and in the cities of Mar de Ajo, Rosario, Mar del Plata, Bariloche, Ushuaia, Córdoba, Junín, Resistencia, among others.

Hours before, Milei affirmed that the decree of economic deregulation measures is "in favor of the people" and criticized those who have taken to the streets to protest, alleging that they suffer "Stockholm syndrome" towards the previous Government, led by the Peronist. Alberto Fernandez.

The Government has also promised to toughen measures against possible pickets, under the slogan "he who cuts, does not get paid", which proposes cuts in aid for people who may block the streets. The Ministry of Security has even set up a telephone line to collect anonymous complaints.
