Russia plans to produce 1,500 combat tanks throughout this year in the framework of the invasion of Ukraine

MADRID, 23 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former Russian president and current vice president of the country's Security Council, Dmitri Medvedev, reported Thursday that Russia plans to produce another 1,500 battle tanks throughout this year to face the Ukrainian forces in the framework of the invasion. Of the territory.

"Our enemies believe that our industry will drown, that we will spend everything and our resources will run out," he asserted before stressing that "1,500 tanks will be produced this year alone," according to the Interfax news agency.

In this sense, he has regretted that the international community is "trying to reduce imports of materials" and has indicated that "they continue to point out that Russia is running out of weapons", something that he has rejected.

Likewise, Medvedev has maintained that Russia is manufacturing its own drones although he has admitted that "there has been a lack of this type of device for a while." In addition, he has stressed that Russia has weapons that are just as good or better than the West. "The most important thing now is to produce all this in the necessary quantities and for this production to start as soon as possible," he said.

In this sense, he has emphasized that it is the "strategic nuclear weapons that guarantee the protection of Russia". "If it weren't for that, we would have been torn to pieces by now," she said.

On the other hand, he has warned that a possible arrest of the president, Vladimir Putin, following the order issued by the International Criminal Court would mean a "declaration of war" against Russia, which would cause the launch of missiles.

"If there were a hypothetical arrest in Germany, for example, we would launch missiles at the chancellor's office and the German Parliament," he threatened.
