Rufián (ERC) boasts of forcing the Government of Sánchez to release those convicted by the process from prison

López (PSOE) defends the normalization of Catalonia and Gamarra (PP) asks what tolls Sánchez will pay to be supported by ERC and Bildu

The head of the ERC list for Barcelona for the 23J elections, Gabriel Rufián, boasted this Thursday of having managed to get the Government of Pedro Sánchez to pardon the nine convicted of the separatist process in Catalonia, despite the fact that they refused in a First time, as you said.

He affirmed it this Thursday in the electoral debate between the seven parliamentary spokesmen organized by RTVE, in the block on territorial policy. "We have achieved things that you did not want, such as nine people being released from jail," she said. "They were forced to do it, because otherwise you would have governed with a certain Albert Rivera," he added, referring to the former leader of Ciudadanos.

Given this, the 'number two' of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has thanked the ERC spokesman for his "sincerity" for clarifying, among other things, "the price" that they asked the Sánchez government to support him in the investiture, demanding to know if They will raise this toll before a hypothetical endorsement for an Executive of Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz, something that has also been raised by the representative of EH Bildu in the debate, Oskar Matute.

Likewise, Gamarra asked López how far the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, is willing to go "in a second stage of a Frankenstein government." The socialist spokesman has responded by throwing the PP in the face that "its partners" from Vox propose to "kill the autonomous communities."

"What we have in front of us is an extreme right-wing alliance that seeks to return to a situation of permanent conflict, fragment Catalan society, pit one against the other," he lamented. "That is from bad politicians, from not understanding this country," she has assessed.

The PSOE spokesman in Congress has argued that the Government received an "unprecedented" situation in Catalonia after the "illegal referendum" and the unilateral declaration of independence, but has managed to restore "tranquility". "Catalan society values this," he added, as evidenced by the fact that the PSC is now the main political force.

Faced with these statements, Rufián has replied that "it is not true that the situation is better, it is different", at the same time that he has taken the opportunity to ask the PSOE spokesman to clarify whether he will accept the holding of a referendum.

"We are proposing something as radical and novel as voting," he stated, stating that "if someone has a different proposal, let them say it." Patxi López has responded by assuring that the Socialists will continue "using politics and dialogue to seek shared solutions."

At the insistence of the ERC leader, who has repeatedly asked him about the solution proposed by the PSOE, he has indicated that said solution will surely not be the one that the Catalan independence movement wants but neither will the Socialists.

"The objective of the socialists is not that we become islands but to build a continent together," he concluded. "It sounds like empty words, commonplaces to me," Rufián lamented. "We say vote, as dangerous as that. We are not going to disappear you either," he added.

The ERC spokesperson has also been interested in knowing if Sumar will support the holding of a self-determination referendum in Catalonia, to which the representative of this formation, Aina Vidal, has limited herself to pointing out that they are committed to "dialogue, pact and agreement ".

VOX WARNS THAT CATALONIA WILL NOT BE INDEPENDENT

The one who has replied to Rufián has been the Vox spokesman in Congress, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros. "What you want, which is independence, you will not have," he told the Catalan leader. "The sooner I know, the better," he assured.

According to the Vox spokesperson, "in Catalonia today there are more people who are concerned about the Islamic republic than about the independent republic of Catalonia."

For his part, the PNV spokesman in Congress, Aitor Esteban, has admitted that "the State is facing two hot potatoes", that of Catalonia and that of the Basque Country. "This must be resolved politically, not with the Criminal Code," he defended, assuring that his party is "disappointed" with the PSOE.

In the investiture pact, he said, they promised to "explore ways to fit in" with the feelings of independence, but this has not happened. From the PNV, he has said, they are "willing to dialogue and seek ways of meeting." "Our clear proposal is national recognition, bilaterality and a neutral arbitrator because the Constitutional Court is not," Esteban stressed.

In turn, Matute has replied to Gamarra, who has argued that the 47 million Spaniards are "free and equal", that if this were the case, the Basques would be given the option of leaving.

The spokesman for EH Bildu has given the United Kingdom as an example, where an independence referendum was allowed in Scotland and the result was negative. "We are willing to lose if necessary to standardize a democratic mechanism that allows our people to go where they want to go," he asserted.
