Robles affirms his "personal commitment" to Sánchez: "I believe in him and in the politics that are being carried out"

MADRID, 3 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Defense Minister Margarita Robles stressed this Saturday that she has "a personal commitment to Pedro Sánchez for a long time" and has shown her confidence in the Prime Minister and in the policy he is pursuing.

"I believe in Pedro Sánchez and the policy that is being carried out is the best for Spain," said the head of Defense in an interview with TVE when asked if she will participate in the general elections on July 23.

"I will be committed as long as I serve. It is a luxury to be Defense Minister," she insisted during the celebration of Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated in Granada.

The Minister of Defense has reiterated that the electoral advance is not going to stop the modernization projects launched by the Armed Forces, since "this government is going to continue working, even if it is in office."

Robles has predicted a "very good electoral result, without any doubt", and has stressed that "the Armed Forces have never been used in a partisan key, since investing in them is investing in Spain's modernity, in values of peace, freedom and security".

In addition, he recalled that investment in the Armed Forces "will continue for many years because it is necessary, since there is a commitment from the President of the Government, of Spain, to reach 2% of GDP".

In this line, Robles has explained that "security is very vulnerable, as is being seen in Ukraine", at the same time that he has shown his solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
