Puigdemont assures that "there are no negotiations underway" nor amnesty proposal on the table

He advances that he will give "direct information" about the Junts proposal at a conference on September 5

BARCELONA, 31 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont has assured that "there are no negotiations underway with anyone" nor has any amnesty project been presented in the framework of contacts between the groups on the investiture of the socialist candidate, Pedro Sánchez.

"Fifteen days after the agreement for the Board of the Congress of Deputies, the amount of speculation in the form of information that has been appearing probably leads to some erroneous conclusions that will have to be clarified soon," he said this Thursday in a tweet collected by Europa Press.

Puigdemont has maintained that there are "conversations with the different political actors, as is logical", although the majority -he says- already come from the last legislature.

However, he has called "not to confuse" these talks with a negotiation, and has warned that dialogue and negotiation are not synonymous concepts.

"Dialogue is prior to any negotiation; it can serve to set the framework in which it can take place, or it can serve to verify that there is no room for negotiation. We will see this in the coming days," he pointed out.

These statements come on the same day that Junts has met its executive to address the political situation, after the PSOE reiterated its 'no' to support the investiture of the PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and reaffirmed in articulating a majority alternative.

Puigdemont recalled that Junts conspired to approach contacts responsibly and not talk about their content, given that, according to him, "it is inevitable that others do it for us and create fictions."

For this reason, it has advanced that next Tuesday, September 5 at 11:00 a.m., it will give "direct information on the framework that Junts will propose" to those who want to negotiate with them at the inaugural conference of an interparliamentary conference in Brussels.

In addition, Puigdemont has separated the scenario of negotiations on the investiture of Sánchez from "no decision regarding the Consell de la República", after this week he dissolved his assembly of representatives and proposed a reform of the entity.
