ZARAGOZA, 17 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Her Royal Highness the Princess of Asturias has said that she begins her military training this Thursday, August 17, "with great desire" and a "bit of nerves", as she has commented to the media in a pose she has carried out with her parents, the Kings, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, and with the Infanta Sofía as soon as they arrived at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.

Thus begins an intense year of training in this Army center, which will conclude in July 2024, with her appointment as Dama Lieutenant Cadet, and will give way to a new stage of military training, in this case, in the army.

Princess Leonor will undergo three years of military training, which will prepare her, after passing through the academies of the Army, the Air Force and the Navy, to become in the future, once she is queen, the general captain of the Armed Forces, as dictated by the Constitution.

The Reyes and their daughters have traveled to the Zaragoza Air Base by plane and from there they have traveled by car to the AGM. They entered through the main entrance and, as soon as they got out of the vehicles, after being greeted by the center's director, Brigadier General Manuel Pérez López, they posed in front of the numerous media gathered there.

After greeting the press, Leonor answered with a smile, to questions from the journalists, that she arrived "with a lot of desire" and a "little bit of nerves". King Felipe has added: "You have to be a little nervous."

A little later, again in response to the press, the King has acknowledged that he has given his daughter numerous advice, has told her to be "attentive" and let herself be advised, above all, by the rest of her colleagues.

Felipe VI recalled his first day at the AGM, where he also trained, 38 years ago and stated: "We all keep very good memories of that day, of course, and seeing Leonor experience it in this way is also exciting; we give her all our encouragement so that the first days, which will be hard, will be overcome with desire, with patience, with effort". His father, King Juan Carlos I, also studied here.

Their Majesties the King and Queen, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia, along with their daughters have been received, as soon as they got out of the cars, after 12:00 noon, by the director of the AGM, who greeted the entire Royal Family. Later, they have entered the zone of direction of the center.

The King has come dressed in the summer and daily uniform of the Army. Queen Letizia has worn a sand-colored linen jacket and ballet flats of a similar color. Both Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía wore jeans and white sneakers, the heiress in a blue shirt and her sister in a Zara print blouse that she has previously worn.

At the exit, around 12:15 p.m., also accompanied by Manuel Pérez López, the Royal Family went to the area where the princess had to register for admission to the AGM,

Leonor has walked hand in hand with her mother, although she has separated for a moment from the family to pick up her suitcase and bag. Later, they have reunited and have reached the area where the Princess of Asturias had to separate from her parents and sister.

There, all of them, have made one last pose for the press. Next, there have been hugs, kisses, emotion, love and affection towards Leonor, who has gone with her suitcase in hand, accompanied by AGM personnel, towards the area of the center's outdoor sports fields, where she has made the filiation.

His new classmates, in the background, were already taking a tour of the facilities, who were joined shortly after by the heiress to continue with the agenda planned for the new students this day.

For their part, the Kings and their daughter Sofía, who have been observing, from a distance, as they were affiliated with, have said goodbye to the press and have gone to the area where the rest of the families had gathered to see their children already inside the military center. Applause was heard and 'Long live the King!', when they greeted those who were in the first row, and then left in their vehicles.

At the AGM, he will carry out a special study plan, which will include a military Instruction and Training program, general subjects and others of what will be his fundamental specialty, Infantry, which will be taught by AGM professors. Languages will complete their training, oriented towards the technical terminology of the Armed Forces and, specifically, the Army.

On this first day, Leonor will get to know her section and with whom she will share the cabin, in addition to the AGM facilities, although the Princess of Asturias already had the opportunity to visit them during her first stay at the AGM, on July 7, when he accompanied Their Majesties the King and Queen in the act of delivering royal dispatches and appointments of new officers of the Army and the Civil Guard.

Among the new spaces that are going to be part of the daily life of the princess are the assembly hall, the classrooms, the cabins, which she will share with her classmates, a dining area, a casino for cadets --leisure space, with an area bar--, and sports facilities.
