Podemos warns the PSOE that revalidating the Government depends on "focusing on governing" and approving the Housing Law

CASTRO URDIALES, 7 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) -

The organization secretary of Podemos and Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda, Lilith Verstrynge, has warned the PSOE that "the most important thing" to revalidate the coalition government is to "focus on governing" and "take advantage of until the last day" to try to deploy the Housing Law.

This was stated this Friday in Castro Urdiales (Cantabria), where he visited the Living Passion, a Festival of National Tourist Interest, and was questioned about the statements by the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, in which "he wishes all the pieces of the puzzle" for a relationship between Podemos and the Sumar platform.

In this regard, Verstrynge has indicated that "the most important thing" to revalidate the coalition government is "for the Socialist Party to focus on governing", "beyond the entries it can make in an internal one that is not that of its political space ".

"The main thing for this government and its best letter of introduction is going to be the laws that it deploys, and the most urgent and, without a doubt, the most important today is the Housing Law," Verstrynge specified, who hopes that Sánchez "be clear that revalidating the coalition government is the main priority."

Thus, the secretary of organization has urged that, "until the last day", they try to "move forward all those laws that are still pending", among which she has also pointed out the Gag Law and "many other commitments that are in the coalition agreement.

In addition, regarding a possible multilateral pact, he has indicated that they are "very focused" on regional and municipal governments, and from Podemos they hope that the second vice president and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, wants to be the unit's candidate.

"We have made a proposal for an agreement that we believe is a minimum agreement that includes a proposal that... is the holding or organization of open primaries in which all citizens can vote, regardless of the political card they have or, in fact, anyone even if they don't have a political or organization card," he said in this regard.

On the other hand, regarding the amendments presented by Esquerra and Bildu for the reform of the 'only yes is yes' law, he has said that he believes that "the most important thing" of the amendments is to "preserve the heart" of the law , which is "consent". "That is the priority. That is what we are going to try at all costs," he reiterated.

Regarding forest fires, whose Firefighter's Statute is being processed in the Congress of Deputies, it has made ugly the model that "makes precarious, that does not prevent and does not take care of the forests, and that, therefore, encourages situations like these and who is also a denier of the climate change situation at the gates of a summer that is going to be very hot".

"Then there is a model that tries to avoid the job insecurity of forest firefighters and that, in addition, is committed to the care and prevention of our fields." As indicated, the government in coalition is committed to this second model, "that of prevention and that of the caretaker of our land and our forests."

"It seems to us that talking about terrorism to those who set our forests on fire, to those who create those fires and talking about tougher penalties for these people is not enough if you are not developing a good fire prevention policy," he assessed.

Finally, Verstrynge has conveyed the organization's condolences to the families and friends of the deceased sailors and the one who disappeared in the shipwreck of 'Vilaboa Uno', "hoping that we can have news as soon as possible".
