PNV vindicates its nonconformity to improve Osakidetza and EH Bildu asks for political responsibilities for its "decline"

PSE says that "they will return Osakidetza to the top" and the PP denounces "poor management due to extreme politicization of public services"

BILBAO, 9 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PNV has denied a "catastrophic" reading of the Osakidetza situation but has claimed "its nonconformity" to "improve" its situation, while EH Bildu believes that responsibilities must be "assumed" in the face of the "critical state" and "decline" of the Basque Health Service.

These demonstrations have taken place within the framework of the electoral debate that TVE has held between the main candidates and representatives in the Basque elections.

In it, the leader of the PNV list for Álava, Joseba Díez Antxustegi, participated; the representative of EH Bildu por Gipuzkoa, Nerea Kortajarena Ibañez; the leader of PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza; the head of the list of Elkarrekin Podemos por Álava, Juantxo López de Uralde; the PP candidate, Javier de Andrés; the representative of Vox por Álava, Amaia Martínez; and the candidate of the Sumar Movement for the Presidency, Alba García.

In a first block on Health and Social Services, the head of the PNV list for Álava, Joseba Díez Antxustegi, has assured that the PNV's commitment to essential services "is accredited" and is its "hallmark" because they allocate 3 of every 4 euros to essential services of education, health and social protection.

After indicating that some forget that there has been a pandemic, he stated that his main commitment is to improve Osakidetza and they have presented "concrete proposals, in the short and medium term, to once again offer the best service." "We are nonconformists and we want to continue improving," she added.

The PNV leader has stated that, if it is the "most expensive", it is because it is where the most investment has been made and has denied that it is not the best in the State or that it is being privatized, since only 5% of the budget is going to the concertation and "in Catalonia 25%."

Díez Intxaustegi has pointed out that "they raised Osakidetza" and have defended it while EH Bildu "has put a spanner in the works", even in the pandemic because its purpose is to "generate unrest in Basque society."

"We have a commitment to improving Osakidetza, we do not close our eyes to the problems, we recognize them, but we are not going to make catastrophic readings because Osakidetza today has more staff than ever and the PNV's commitment is to implement measures to solve the problems. problems you may have," he said.

The representative of EH Bildu for Gipuzkoa, Nerea Kortajarena Ibañez, has defended as "her highest" priority "to get Osakideza back on its feet," which is "in a critical state." In her opinion, it has gone into "decline."

As he pointed out, it has become the "worst valued" public policy and he added that the PNV has no "credibility" when talking about solutions for Osakidetza because "they have denied the existence of a problem."

Kortajarena has defended that Osakidetza requires the "commitment of everyone" and that an "honest diagnosis" be made and that "political responsibilities be assumed because there have been political responsibilities here." As she indicated, her proposal, above all, "puts the focus in the first instance on primary care, where they want to expand the workforce by 10%. She added that EH Bildu's commitment to Osakidetza is" unquestionable "

The general secretary of the PSE-EE and candidate for Lehendakari for this formation, Eneko Andueza, has indicated that for his party Osakidetza is "a priority in their program" and they are committed to incorporating 2,000 more health professionals to fill the missing positions and recover normality, in addition to regulating waiting times by law.

As stated, Osakidetza does not work as everyone would like and the priority is "recovering quality and pre-pandemic parameters" for which "better planning and more professionals" are needed.

Andueza has defended that if someone has shown that they know how to manage Osakidetza "that has been the PSE throughout history" and they are willing to return it "to the top." "I never imagine Osakidetza in the hands of Bildu seeing how they managed Gipuzkoa," he added.

The head of the Elkarrekin Podemos list for Álava, Juantxo López de Uralde, has criticized the "neoliberal" framework of the PNV that "avoids "privatizing" public services, while, for its part, the PSE-EE "seems that it has not been governing in recent years", so they have "responsibility for what happens in Osakidetza, which has gone from being "the jewel in the crown" to being in "indisputable deterioration".

Likewise, after denouncing the high temporality, López de Uralde added that "something is wrong" when the PNV itself announces "investments of 1,250 million more."

The PP candidate for Lehendakari, Javier de Andrés, has stated that Basque healthcare is "the most expensive" in the State but "it is not the best" due to "poor management" that is due to an "extreme politicization of all services." public".

"We have to look for qualified professionals without looking at the card or identity issues such as linguistic or ideological issues," added Javier de Andrés, who has called for "stabilizing the Osakidetza workforce without linguistic requirements."

The popular leader has also criticized that the RGI is an "absolute disaster" that leads to "two thirds of the recipients who may be working taking an income home" when "they must be integrated into the workforce."

The Vox representative for Álava, Amaia Martínez, has criticized the "cut" in health resources or the "linguistic imposition" and has assured that Health is "destroyed."

Furthermore, the Vox leader has stated that in 2023 the "record of insecurity" has been broken, which, in her opinion, is "closely linked to illegal immigration." Likewise, she has criticized that social aid "is taken by illegal immigrants." For this reason, she has demanded the immediate expulsion of all immigrants who "commit serious crimes or make minor crimes their way of life" and that aid go primarily to the Basques.

Sumar Mugimendua's candidate for Lehendakaritza, Alba García, has denounced that the privatization of Osakidetza "is not an invention" and has assured that Osakidetza is not valued well and that "it is not going well" it is not something that "is invented."

Alba García has defended improving the conditions of the staff who work in Osakidetza and "shielding" public health, through "tightening the budget" and reducing waiting lists. Likewise, she has indicated that if the PNV announces an investment of more than 1,200 million it is because Osakidetza "is not right" and she believes that it is an "at least electoralist" announcement.

On the other hand, Díez Antxustegi has expressed his concern about the fact that EH Bildu "wants to remove the deductions for purchasing a habitual residence", which in the case of young people, represent up to 1,900 euros (annual).

"There are 330,000 families in Euskadi who are taking advantage of these deductions and who see how they can lose that money every year," he warned, to send a message of peace of mind to all those families, pointing out that if the PNV governs, it will continue defending those deductions for the purchase of a habitual residence.

The EH Bildu candidate has responded to the Jeltzale candidate by assuring that "no one who is now receiving or benefiting from that deduction is going to lose it." "In any case, - she has specified - what has been proposed is the review, to start talking about these deductions, something that is included" in the Housing Master Plan of the Basque Government.

In his reply, Díez has indicated that when Bildu says it wants to "remove the deductions in the future, it means that those 330,000 are going to be many more in the future, who have to lose the money that is deducted for the purchase of a home."
