The PNV spokesman in the Congress of Deputies, Aitor Esteban, has insisted that the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has no possibility of being sworn in as president because "there is no way" for the jeltzales to support him, but he has warned that the investiture of the general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, has "a lot of filming" left. "We haven't even started talking to him," he assured.

In separate interviews with Onda Vasca and the SER chain, collected by Europa Press, Esteban, who this afternoon will meet Felipe VI as part of the round of contacts that the king is making with a view to proposing a candidate for the investiture, has considered that these meetings of the monarch are "a bit hasty".

"Truly, there have been no minimal conversations to be able to discuss and prepare the investiture. Therefore, little can be said to him at this time, beyond what he will surely have deduced from the media," he indicated.

In his opinion, to have "a deeper understanding of where it could go, of how the situation is and if there would be real possibilities of an investiture of someone, perhaps I should wait and do another new round."

"It is evident that Feijóo's candidacy has no chance of moving forward. Now, the other candidacy, that of Sánchez, still needs a lot of filming to be able to say that he is in a position to go ahead with the investiture, so that he gets the necessary votes.
