Pablo Barrios renews with Atlético until 2028

The midfielder Pablo Barrios has renewed his contract with Atlético de Madrid until June 30, 2028 and becomes a first-team player, the rojiblanco club reported this Monday, which will continue to have the footballer trained at the Academy since 2018.

Barrios ended up in the lower categories of the mattress entity e4n 2018, coming from Real Madrid, and in his first season he played for Cadet B. For five seasons he trained at the Academy, where he became a fundamental pillar in Juvenil A on last year and at the start of the season with the subsidiary.

At the age of 19, the young midfielder made his debut with the first team in the LaLiga Santander match at the Nuevo Mirandilla, where Diego Pablo Simeone's men lost to Cádiz (3-2). Only a few days later, he also made his debut in the 'Champions' in the last game of the group stage in Porto.

After the break for the World Cup in Qatar, the youth squad player started the first official match in the Copa del Rey against Arenteiro in O Carballiño (Ourense), and there he scored his first official goal with the first team and that culminated the comeback (1 -3).

Days later, he scored his second goal with the rojiblanca shirt in another cup match, in Oviedo, which served to certify Atlético's qualification for the round of 16 (0-2). In total, Pablo Barrios has played eight games with the first team.
