Ángel Torres: "In three years the Coliseum will be completely closed"

The 'azulón' president acknowledges that the agreement "was not the best" and advances that he will present three projects to cover the stadium

The president of Getafe CF, Ángel Torres, assured this Wednesday that the concession agreement for the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium that he signed with the Getafe City Council "was not the best", because he wanted it to be owned by the club, although it is "satisfied" and will negotiate the works to roof it after the municipal elections of May 2023.

Torres pointed out during the club's Christmas event, in which the mayoress of Getafe, Sara Hernández, was present, that within a month he will present three projects to cover the stadium, and "let people think which one they like best".

In addition, the president of the 'azulón' club has explained that it is about "making a new stadium on this stadium". "You have to talk to the City Council because it is the owner, but in three years the field will be completely closed," he stated.

"I don't think this will get complicated again because there is no reason, since we have the money and a 50-year concession," highlighted a Torres who added that they have a conversation pending after the municipal elections. "With whoever wins them, what I don't want is for anyone to use the team or influence them," he added.

"I would have liked it to be owned by the club, but we have to close the page and get along well," said the president of Getafe CF in relation to the agreement signed with the City Council, which was approved by a local Government Board last month October for the concession of the facilities of the Coliseum, the Sports City and a venue, for a period of 40 years, extendable for another ten.
