Moreno urges the Government to assume responsibility in the face of the "very harsh" drought: "Let it carry out its works near or far from Doñana"

SEVILLA, 17 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has asked the central government this Monday to assume its responsibility and carry out the hydraulic works in this community that are within its competence, "near or far" from the Doñana park, and that are necessary to face the problem of the "extremely harsh" drought.

During his speech at the 'Forum Europe. Tribuna Andalucía' to present the PP candidate for Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, the president has demanded that the national Executive cease the "attacks" on this community and stop "discrediting" the agricultural sector of Huelva and the " good brand" from Andalusia for a "handful of votes.

He has also announced that this Tuesday the committee of experts on the drought that was created in Andalusia will meet to address solutions. He has considered that the central government should also do the same, with the aim that, among all, solutions are sought.

Moreno has insisted that the drought is one of the biggest problems we have in Andalusia and Spain by far, and it must be faced with great rigor and work because "works are not carried out overnight": "It is necessary that all administrations and in a very special way the Government of the nation has a water policy for our country and for Andalusia, something that we obviously miss".

He added that the problems must be faced with work and solutions and not with "thumping the chest or hoaxes or false debates" and he wanted to make it clear that the Junta is making a "titanic and solo effort for the water infrastructures that are being done in Andalusia".
