Minister Belarra denounces alleged manipulation of the CIS in March on Podemos and demands explanations from Tezanos

The minority partner of the Government maintains that the president of the CIS has left the institution "in question"

MADRID, 31 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, and Podemos have denounced an alleged manipulation of the data from the opinion barometer of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) for the month of March, with the aim of lowering the United States vote estimate We can to relate it to the controversy over the Law 'only yes is yes'.

In this sense, sources from the purple formation demand immediate explanations from the president of the organization, the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos, about this possible "alteration" of data. Belarra has also demanded on social networks that Tezanos clarify what happened before public opinion.

Specifically, the latest CIS poll showed that Unidas Podemos registered the greatest drop among all the parties, since only 10% of the vote estimate was recorded compared to 12.7% in February, which caused the loss of third place. in favor of Vox, which remains at 10.1%. Meanwhile, the PSOE remained the most voted party.

The survey was based on 3,788 telephone interviews carried out in the first eleven days of March, in full division within the Government due to the reform of the "Only yes is yes" law and after the controversy over the "Mediator case" and the extra-parliamentary activities of former deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo.

However, the purple ones are based on analyzes disseminated in networks on the microdata of the poll and changes in the counting of vote estimates. For example, they allude to the fact that in February Sumar's spontaneous responses were counted within Unidas Podemos, as can be seen in February, but that in March that mention disappeared and the 3.6% of support that left United Podemos and left grew. to 'another party'.

Moreover, they detect that this category of 'other party' rose from 1.8% in voting intentions to 4.3%, when the category of spontaneous responses linked to Sumar is 2.4%.

In the opinion of Podemos, these events place the CIS in a "very serious" situation that is "unprecedented". "With this kind of practice, a key public institution is called into question," these sources add.

The party leader has proclaimed on Twitter that "if it is true that the CIS manipulated the UP March data" to say that its drop was due to the "only yes is yes" Law, it would be "a very serious and unprecedented situation in a key public institution".

In turn, the secretary of the Organization of Podemos, Lilith Verstrynge, has also criticized the publication of a two-point drop in United Podemos in the CIS and that it was due to the controversy over the 'yes is yes' regulations. "It is not true, Tezanos manipulated the data and places the public institution of the CIS in question," she launched.
