MADRID, 19 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Microsoft will invest 1,950 million euros in Spain until 2025 to promote the deployment of infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI) with the aim of promoting digital innovation and the responsible use of this technology.

This was conveyed by the president of Microsoft, Brad Smith, to the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in a meeting held this afternoon at the La Moncloa complex and in which the minister for Digital and Functional Transformation also participated. Public, José Luis Escrivá, as reported by the Executive in a statement.

"This is the largest investment by the technology multinational in our country to date," the Government has assured.

Likewise, at the meeting various collaboration agreements between the Government and Microsoft in the field of artificial intelligence were analyzed to expand its use in Public Administration through generative AI solutions and training plans for officials.

The reinforcement of national cybersecurity has also been put on the table in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the National Cryptological Center, as well as companies and SMEs together with the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).

In that sense, Microsoft will soon open a cloud region of data centers in the Community of Madrid and has announced that it will build a data center campus in Aragon for European companies and public entities.
