Mazón announces that Equality will continue to be a vice presidency and influences the fight against sexist violence

He is grateful for the government pact with Vox and criticizes that "it was not possible" for the PSPV to abstain in order to govern alone

VALENCIA, 13 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The candidate for the Presidency of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has announced that he will maintain a vice-presidency with Equality powers, as the Botànic has had, and that this area "will coordinate all the Consell's cross-cutting policies on equality" and has had an impact on the fight against one of the "main scourges of society": violence against women.

This was stated by the candidate in his investiture speech, in which he stated that the Valencian Community must "repudiate any type of violence that occurs in any workplace, sexist, intra-family, gender or sexual, racial identity and in any of its forms.

"Unfortunately, we have to live with a reality that, today, affects many women and that makes us, like any other form of violence, a worse society. There are issues that exceed any partisan action and that transcend one's own language and neither we, ladies and gentlemen, nor society as a whole can deny it", he stated.

Mazón has urged "to work together to eliminate social inequalities of any kind" and has called for "strong and fair social services" to be guaranteed that "are truly effective and guarantee that, as a society, we live up to the time we we have to live."

In this sense, he has indicated that the Social Services Area must stop being "the little sister of the Council in particular and of the different administrations in general". "I'm talking about reference, real accompaniment, transversal policies that involve an entire government and an entire society. I'm talking about ceasing to be a sectoral issue and becoming a general issue," she said.

As a balance of how he has gotten here, Mazón recalled that on the same night of 28M he announced a round of contacts with all the groups with representation, from highest to lowest and not "on a whim" or personal preference.

Thus, he first addressed the acting 'president', the socialist Ximo Puig, and then the rest of the parties. "Although I regretted some absence, that fact did not motivate mine," he added, and has defended that he proposed to everyone "a serious investiture for a stable government."

As a result of this round, he has highlighted that a coalition government was agreed with Vox. "My most sincere thanks go ahead to the 13 representatives of these Cortes from the Vox group," he stated, to emphasize that "any agreement with the PSOE was not possible, neither for the investiture nor for the maximum plurality of the Mesa de Les courteous".

On the other hand, he has highlighted that he did manage to agree with Compromís on the distribution of the positions in the Mesa de Les Corts. He has also highlighted the fact that he met with Puig to "send a message of stability, security and responsibility" to the business investments that are "at stake" in the Community.

At the same time, he explained that "in a discreet, not secret, and effective way, the work meetings with the ministries are taking place for an exemplary, orderly and solvent transfer", something in which he has thanked Puig for "predisposition".

In addition, it has valued the constitution of the new parliamentary commissions "unanimously, without vetoes and with the full participation of all groups", through 42 agreements.

Mazón has insisted that poverty, food queues and social exclusion are "embarrassing issues" for any public servant, along with the "manifestly improvable treatment of social entities that heroically fight against these inequalities." For this reason, he has promised the "long-awaited Law of the Third Sector."

Likewise, it has assumed the commitment "to manage, preferably and in any case, personally, both with the public servants who attend to the disabled, and very especially with the entities, federations, groups and associations with which I maintain a close and almost of brotherhood".

"In this society there is no room for discrimination against anyone for any reason," he said. "The future government of the Generalitat will not only be inclusive of any group, but will also develop policies that guarantee that no one can feel threatened by choosing who they love or by being born where they were born," she stated.

Looking to the future, Mazón has indicated that it is time for "quiet reflection" to analyze "all the changes produced in the configuration of majorities with respect to the previous term" and correspond "with the greatest dedication" to the demands, needs, problems and concerns of the Valencian "people".

To this end, he has promised to listen and have "initiative and dedication to service". "And yes, I am referring to everyone, even though it is me, a 49-year-old from Alicante, who has this great honor of requesting their confidence in these Corts Valencianes", he said, addressing the deputies, to whom he has guaranteed that wants to count on their contributions, points of view and "sensitivities".

"I have no doubt that if something unites us it is the love for this land and the will to give our best to improve ourselves, grow, achieve goals and get together where the citizens ask of us," he proclaimed.
