Last year, a total of 663,370 thefts were reported in Spain, which represents an increase of 3.3% compared to 2022, according to data from the Crime Balance of the Ministry of the Interior for the year 2023.

Spain is a safe country in relation to other regions, according to crime statistics from Eurostat and other international organizations that measure crime.

Regarding robberies without violence, the latest statistics available in Eurostat corresponding to 2021 place Spain at the bottom of European countries in terms of rate per 100,000 inhabitants, behind other neighboring countries such as France, Portugal or Italy.

The following map uses data from the Ministry of the Interior and shows the number of reported thefts for municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants. In order to compare some cities with others, the map shows the theft rate per 100,000 inhabitants.
