López (PSOE) says that the conversations with Junts are "permanent" and he is convinced that the decrees will be approved

BILBAO, 7 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The socialist spokesperson in Congress, Patxi López, has assured that the conversations with Junts are "permanent" in order to have their support for the approval of several decrees in Congress and has highlighted that they will be discussed "until the last minute from the conviction that the decrees are going to be approved".

López went to Bilbao this Sunday to attend the event celebrating the 120 years of the Socialist Youth of the Biscayan capital.

In statements to the media after the meeting, the former Lehendakari referred to the vote this coming Wednesday in the Congress of Deputies on three decrees and the announced rejection of Junts.

After ensuring that these are decrees that contain measures that "directly affect the well-being of citizens", he stated that the PSOE would not understand that issues such as the increase in pensions, the maintenance of the VAT reduction to food, aid for public transport or the tax on large fortunes, among others.

"This is what is at stake and nothing else. That is why we are going to talk to all the formations to move them forward," he expressed, adding that the PSOE will speak "until the last minute from the conviction that the decrees are going away." to approve".

In his opinion, "it is not understandable" that there are those who have supported a progressive government and, "then, when progressive measures arrive, they do not support them."

Furthermore, he has recognized that the conversations with Junts are "permanent and discreet", and has pointed out that "when they have been discreet they have worked." "Let's hope they work this time too," he added.
