LaLiga footballers monopolize the World Cup semifinals

22 'Spanish' representatives among the four best teams in the world

Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla, with five players each

MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

LaLiga has the largest representation of players in the semifinal round of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 with a total of 22 footballers, compared to the rest of the major European leagues, most of them members of Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla.

Those 22 footballers who play in the Spanish league represent a domain by far, since the next most represented league in the penultimate round of the World Cup is the English Premier with 16. Meanwhile, Serie A and Ligue 1 have 14 each, for the 13 footballers that the Bundesliga contributes.

At the club level, Bayern Munich is the team that still has the most players in Qatar with 6, although closely followed by the Spanish teams Atlético and Sevilla, with five each. The fourth club with the highest number of players in the semifinals of Qatar is Dinamo Zagreb with four players.

The World Cup semifinals will face Argentina and Croatia on Tuesday the 13th, while France and Morocco will meet on Wednesday. Antoine Griezmann (France), Nahuel Molina, Rodrigo de Paul and Ángel Correa (Argentina) and Ivo Grbic (Croatia) are the Atlético players, while Bono and Youssef En-Nesyri (Morocco), 'Papu' Gómez, Marcos Acuña and Gonzalo Montiel are the five Sevilla footballers in the semifinals.

In addition, Real Madrid has the Croatian Luka Modric and the French Tchoauméni and Camavinga; Osasuna is represented by the Croatian Ante Budimir and the Moroccan Ez Abde; Barça has the Gauls Koundé and Dembelé; Villarreal, the Argentines Rulli and Foyth; Betis, also Argentines Pezzella and Guido Rodríguez; and Real Valladolid, to the Moroccan El Yamiq.
